9201 NORMANDALE BLVD, BLOOMINGTON (MINNEAPOLIS), MINNESOTA

This concert is being promoted by the American Guild of Organists as the official featured event for the evening prior to the opening of the 2008 National Convention of the American Guild of Organists, which occurs June 22 - 26, 2008 in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis - St. Paul, Minneosta.
Frederick Hohman will perform upon the 3-manual Reuter Organ at St. Michael Church, Bloomington, and joins with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of the orchestra's principal conductor, Joseph Schlefke, in a program featuring organ with orchestra. Frederick Hohman shall be the only organ soloist featured at the concert.
Highlights of the program shall be the World Premiere of the organ with orchestra version of Iberian Feast of the Resurrection by Carlos Xavier Santiago, the World Premiere of the second movement from Frederick Hohman's Concerto for Organ and Orchestra, and a rare performance of the 1903 Horatio Parker Concerto for Organ and Orchestra (Strings, Brass, Harp and Drums), Opus 55.

Unlike events that occur during the convention proper, which are closed to the general public and open only to AGO convention attendees, this pre-convention concert is open to both AGO convention attendees and the general public. Tickets are required. For more details, send an email to Jane Horn care of St. Michael Church: janiehonk@gmail.com or telephone her at 952. 831-5276.

Saturday Evening, 12 July 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
THE COMMUNITY CHURCH,
ESSEX, NEW YORK
Frederick Hohman returns yet again for a solo recital upon the 2-manual and pedal Dutch tracker organ, in a quaint New England venue that has drawn such other renown organists as Thomas Heywood and Carol Williams. A free-will offering will be received.

Tuesday Evening, 15 July 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
MERRILL AUDITORIUM,
(Portland City Hall), PORTLAND, MAINE
Frederick Hohman makes a return to the stage of comfortable, air-conditioned Merrill Auditorium and the FRIENDS OF THE KOTZSCHMAR ORGAN Summer Series, after several years, where he plays the Mighty Kotzschmar Organ (Austin Opus 323), on which he has previously recorded 2 CDs: Lemare Affair II and Lemare Affair III. Frederick has been invited to fill this date on the summer series, after the unfortunate recent cancellation of a 2008 USA concert tour by the brilliant Australian organ virtuoso Thomas Heywood, who was to have appeared at FOKO on 15 July 2008. A suggested donation is required for admittance. For more details, visit FOKO's website: www.foko.org
