PREMIERE CHORAL PERFORMANCE - "HOLY NIGHT," a Christmas anthem by Frederick Hohman commissioned by and dedicated to Dr. Nancy Menk and the South Bend Chamber Singers, South Bend, Indiana, was given its world premiere performance at the annual Christmas at Loretto concert, presented at Church of Loretto on the campus of Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. Frederick Hohman was on hand to receive a warm acknowledgment. A capacity audience was in attendance.

COURT STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA
Frederick Hohman gave a 90-minute masterclass / workshop on the
1981 vintage Schantz organ at Court Street UMC for the Lynchburg
Chapter of The American Guild of Organists. The workshop centered
upon the art of organ transcription, and featured many musical
examples from key transcribers of the early 20th century. The
concert was open to the public and drew a better than average
attendance from AGO members.

This concert was the official pre-opening evening event for the
2008 National Convention of The American Guild of Organists in
the Twin Cities (Minneapolis). The concert featured Frederick
Hohman at the Reuter pipe organ throughout the concert. In addition
to six works for organ and orchestra, including two major concerti,
and 3 works composed and orchestrated by Hohman, Fred had two
solo organ transcriptions and one encore in response to a standing
ovation from a large and appreciative audience.
