This video, and the second part (see next video on list) comprise the complete, unabridged Christmas Fantasy on Adeste Fideles by Gaston Dethier. Dethier and his brother, a violinist, came to America from Europe, and Gaston soon found a career of teaching at the Juilliard School in New York. The occasion of the performance in this video is the re-dedication of the restored 1920s-vintage Austin pipe organ at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Dayton, Ohio. A capacity audience of over 1000 was in attendance. and it was such an exciting night, indeed!
